Man Breaks Statues In Mineola Church; Causes $10,000 In Damage: Police
Aldo Hernandez was arrested and charged with second-degree criminal mischief, police said.
MINEOLA, NY — A Mineola man was arrested for an incident during a church service on Sunday afternoon, police said.
Aldo Hernandez, 26, entered the Corpus Christi Church in Mineola and became irate and caused a disturbance, police said.
He approached the altar and proceeded to push over two religious statues. Hernandez caused approximately $10,000 worth of damage, authorities said.

Hernandez was placed under arrest without incident. No injuries were reported.
He is charged with second-degree criminal mischief, police said, and was scheduled to be arraigned on Monday.
