Man Targets Elderly In Nassau Construction Fraud: Police
Patrick Wall was arrested and charged in connection to multiple grand larcenies since Sept. 2023, police said.
MINEOLA, NY — A man has been arrested and charged in connection to running a construction scam throughout Nassau County, police said.
Patrick Wall, 25, without a known address, stated to numerous elderly victims that he was a masonry worker and could perform construction on the parts of their homes in need of repairs, police said.
Between Sept. 2023 and Jan. 2025, Wall's offers were accepted by the victims and he would intentionally create additional damage to inflate the cost of new repairs, authorities said.

The victims eventually suspected that they were being scammed and called the police.
After an investigation, Wall was located and placed under arrest without incident. He is charged with mutliple counts of grand larceny, five counts of first-degree scheme to defraud, two counts of second-degree criminal mischief and multiple Town of Hempstead violations, police said.

He was due to be arraigned on Sunday.
