Mineola Resident Receives 2013 Irish-American Scholarship

Mineola resident Colleen Gaughran, who graduated last month from Sacred Heart Academy and will attend Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY in the fall, was recently awarded a $1,000 scholarship by Irish-Americans in Government (IAG).

The award was based on Gaughran’s strong academic record, her participation in a wide array of school-sponsored extracurricular activities and the compelling essay she submitted to IAG’s scholarship committee on her Irish-American heritage.
