Nassau Police Come To Community As Part Of National Night Out

NASSAU COUNTY, NY — The Nassau County Police Department is taking part in National Night Out. The 41st annual event is aimed at crime and drug prevention, while building relationships with the local communities.
Each Nassau County precinct will hold National Night Out gatherings on Tuesday evening.
For residents within the 1st Precinct:

- Baldwin High School: 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Child ID kits and Crime Prevention literature will be available.
- John J. Byrne Community Center: 925 Jerusalem Ave., Uniondale, 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

2nd Precinct:
- Syosset- Woodbury Community Park: 7800 Jericho Tpke., Woodbury, in the parking lot. 6:00
p.m. to 8:00 p.m. This event will feature entertainment, family activities and giveaways.
3rd Precinct:

- Martin “Bunky” Reid Park: Broadway Ave, Westbury, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. This event starts
with a parade which will assemble at 5:00 p.m. at the Salvation Army located at 992 Prospect Avenue and begin at 5:30 p.m. At the conclusion of the parade there will be a fair in the park beginning at 6:00 p.m and concluding at 8:00 p.m. - Children’s Ride for a safer Williston Park: Line-up at 6:30 p.m. at Broad St & Amherst St. The parade begins at 7:00 p.m. and ends at Kelleher Field.
4th Precinct:
- Cedarhurst Park (Andrew J. Parise Park): located on Cedarhurst and Summit Avenue, 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. during a “Concert in the Park”. Crime prevention literature will be distributed.
5th Precinct:
- Rath Park: 849 Fenworth Blvd., 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Raffles, Touch-A-Truck and food trucks are planned.
6th Precinct:
- Whitney Pond Park: 133 Valley Road, Manhasset, 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Crime prevention
literature will be distributed. There will be arts & crafts, ice cream trucks, food vendors and children’s safety and fire awareness lectures.
7th Precinct:
- John Burns Park: Merrick Road in Massapequa. 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Held in conjunction with the "Music Under the Stars" program, which begins at 8:00 p.m. Residents will have an opportunity to speak with their local precinct personnel and receive crime prevention tips.
8th Precinct:
- Bethpage High School: 10 Cherry Avenue, Bethpage, 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Music provided by the “Tom Chupka and Friends” band. There will be face painting, giveaways and snacks. Bethpage FD "Smoke House" fire prevention trailer will be there.
