Nassau Ranked Safest County In America: Report

In praising the U.S. News and World Report ranking, County D.A. Anne Donnelly said, "We are getting dangerous weapons off our streets."

MINEOLA, NY — Officials are showing their pride for Nassau after U.S. News & World Report named the county the safest county in America.

"[This] is a tribute to our police officers, district attorney, and other law enforcement professionals who put their life on the line each and every day to protect the residents of Nassau County. However we should not rest on our laurels," County Executive Bruce Blakeman said on X.

District Attorney Anne Donnelly, District Attorney, praised members of law enforcement and attorneys in her office "who are singularly focused on protecting our communities."
