Accident 'Seriously Injures' City Worker Trimming Trees

Mount Vernon officials say that an investigation is underway to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.

MOUNT VERNON, NY — Officials are praying for the recovery of a city worker who was critically hurt on the job.

At 9:45 a.m. today, while trimming trees, the City of Mount Vernon employee was seriously injured near the intersection of 5th Avenue and 5th Street.

Emergency personnel responded immediately, and the employee was transported from the scene and is currently receiving medical treatment. Officials say that an investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
