Arrest Made In Fatal Stabbing Of 68-Year-Old In His Westchester Home
The victim was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx in stable condition, but later died from his injuries.

MOUNT VERNON, NY — The Mount Vernon Police Department has made an arrest in the stabbing that left a 68-year-old dead on Friday.
At around 8:30 a.m., police received an emergency call reporting that a man was being harassed at a home on the 100 block of Stevens Avenue. Once at the scene, officers found both the suspect and the victim inside the home. The victim had suffered a stab wound.
The victim was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center in stable condition, but later died from his injuries.

The suspect, 32-year-old Astillo Sylvain, of Mount Vernon, lived at the same address as the victim. Sylvain was arrested at the scene.
Following an investigation by the Detective Division, Sylvain was charged with first-degree manslaughter.

"The Mount Vernon Police Department thanks all responding officers, detectives, and medical personnel for their swift response and coordination," MVPD officials said in a statement.
