MOUNT VERNON, NY — If holiday sticker shock is getting you down, there is some big news from Santa's favorite place south of the North Pole.

For the past three years, American Christmas, in Mount Vernon, has famously turned its showroom into a winter wonderland called Holiday Expereince, with 100 percent of net ticket sales going to support three local nonprofit organizations. The one-of-a-kind Christmas in America store is the largest Christmas shop in Westchester County.

However, the company realized that for some, the ticket price became a deterrent to experiencing the holiday magic. So, the elves at American Christmas decided that their Christmas in America store would be a free Holiday Experience this year.

"We heard from many people who said they wanted to shop and see the magnificent displays but not pay a ticket price, so we eliminated the tickets and made it easy for everyone to come and enjoy this holiday experience," Dan Casterella, CEO of American Christmas, explained.

Expanded from 1,000 to 12,000 square feet, the immersive holiday destination with "18-foot ceilings adorned with dazzling decor" offers visitors the chance to take amazing holiday photos as well as shop for holiday decorations, with 10 percent of all sales supporting the same three local organizations as before: the Mount Vernon Boys & Girls Club, the Northeast STEM Starter Academy of Mt. Vernon, and the Youth Community Outreach Program of Mount Vernon.
