MOUNT VERNON, NY — The group that does a remarkable job of helping to keep a community healthy will be celebrating this weekend and offering an opportunity for some preventive healthcare at the same time.

Mount Vernon Neighborhood Health Center, Inc. and US Department of Health and Human Services officials will be hosting "Get Out the Vax," a community-based vaccination clinic and Fall Health Festival.

The pop-up clinic/Fall Health Festival will take place this Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m, at 107 W. Fourth St. in Mount Vernon.

There will be health screenings, pumpkin giveaways, face painting, a DJ, refreshments and Halloween treats, along with vaccinations offered for COVID-19, influenza, monkeypox and polio.

Everyone who receives a COVID-19 vaccination will receive a $50 gift card.
