Patterson-Howard Wins Mount Vernon Mayoral Primary Vote In Landslide
Democratic candidates were vying for Mount Vernon mayor and city council seats.

MOUNT VERNON, NY — The votes have been tallied in the Democratic primary in the city of Mount Vernon after candidates for mayor and council members sought to earn the right to be on their party's ballot line in November.

Mayoral race: Incumbent Mount Vernon Shawyn Patterson-Howard received 71 percent of votes, while challenger Andre D. Wallace received 29 percent.

Council Member race: Derrick Thompson received 35 percent of votes and Jaevon Boxhill received 30 percent, to both advance to the general election in November. Lauren Carter received 22 percent of votes, while Axel Ebermann received 14 percent.
