Mount Vernon Will Open Cooling Centers As Temperatures Soar

MOUNT VERNON, NY — With heat index values between 95º F and 104º F this week in Westchester County, the city is opening three cooling centers.

Those without air conditioning are urged to visit one of Mount Vernon's cooling centers:

• The Doles Center – 250 S. Sixth Avenue
• Mount Vernon Public Library – 28 S. First Avenue
• Mount Vernon-Montefiore Hospital – 12 N. 7th Avenue
