PSK Supermarkets Donates $22,000 in Food to Local Banks, Urges Shoppers to Help Fight Hunger
PSK Supermarkets directs store managers to donate groceries to food banks near its New York stores and invites customers to join in.

November 4, 2025 (Mount Vernon, NY) - Due to the uncertainty of the government to load shopper SNAP (Food Stamp Assistance) accounts due to the government shutdown, PSK Supermarkets has asked each store manager to coordinate with nearby food banks, order groceries, and make donations of food to help those in need. Total donated food for PSK will be $22,000.00 across its New York stores. In addition, the company has set up displays of “Food Bags” that shoppers can purchase and which will also be donated to the local food banks.
Ed Hunt, company Vice President, discussed this with all the store managers and everyone is working quickly to order the groceries and arrange for them to be delivered over the next few days. Customers and PSK associates are all aware of the issue with the SNAP cards not being loaded on November 1st and everyone wants to help in some way. Ed Hunt stated, “There are people that certainly need the SNAP assistance to put food on the table for their family and this is a way that our associates can help them get through this issue.” Hunt added, “We are an Employee-Owned Company and our associates have asked to get this set up for our customers during this difficult time.”
“PSK has a long history of stepping up in times of crisis to serve the needs of the communities we serve,” said Noah Katz, President and CEO of PSK. “While debates continue, there are real impacts on families and children. We are committed to doing everything we can to mitigate impacts and protect those most at risk."
