Stop & Shop and the Westchester County Kick Off Stuff-a-Bus Food Drive

Food Collected in 14 Stop & Shop Stores Across Westchester Will Aid Community Members Currently Facing Hunger

Today, representatives from Feeding Westchester, Stop & Shop, and Westchester County Executive George Latimer kicked off the week-long Feeding Westchester Bee-Line Food Drive. Donation bins will be set up at all 14 Westchester Stop & Shop stores until Friday, Oct. 20.

With 1 in 3 Westchester households at risk of hunger, Feeding Westchester’s hunger-relief network serves more than 220,000 neighbor visits each month. Feeding Westchester’s network of 300 agency partners and programs throughout the county distributed more than 17 million meals from July 2022 through June 2023, which is nearly as much food as the organization distributed during the COVID pandemic.

A Bee-Line bus will be stationed at the Yonkers Stop & Shop store Oct. 20-21 from 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. with the goal of “stuffing-the-bus” with much-needed items, such as stuffing, boxed macaroni and cheese, gravy, canned fruits and vegetables, and juice, donated to Feeding Westchester by the generous members of the Westchester community.
