Thieves Are Targeting This Make Of Car With Tech Exploits, And Cops Are Recommending A Low-Tech Solution

Mount Vernon police say that anti-theft devices like "The Club" could help thwart thieves who are cloning key fobs across the Hudson Valley.

MOUNT VERNON, NY — Thieves are exploiting a modern high-tech convenience, and targeting a particular make of car, but police say that there is a tried-and-true way not to be a victim.

After a string of thefts of airbags from Acuras and Hondas, police in Mount Vernon are recommending that low-tech equipment, like "The Club," be used to lessen the chance of airbags, or vehicles, being stolen.

Tires and rims, as well radar sensors from the grilles of Acuras and Hondas, are being stolen.
