Volunteer Opportunities Of The Week: After-School Reading Coaches

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Each week, Patch will be highlighting volunteer opportunities in the Hudson Valley. This will be a chance to help your community and be an opportunity to give back — perhaps in a way you didn't consider before.

This week we are putting the spotlight on some opportunities in the Hudson Valley.

After-School Reading Enrichment Coaches
Adult volunteers are needed to help Mount Vernon High School athletes once a week with strengthening their comprehension skills as well as provide support for specific subjects, such as reading, biology, and math. After-School Coaches must be 21+.
Date: Mondays-Wednesdays from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. (times may vary slightly)

Moves For Mental Health Event
Volunteers are needed to help set up table decorations, staff the registration table, and hand out informational materials to attendees of the annual Moves for Mental Health event. The event includes free community resources, art activities, barbecue food, a deejay, photo booth, dance classes, wellness presentations, and more.
Date: Saturday, July 15 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. & 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Google Apps Expert
Volunteers with experience in Google applications, such as G Suite, Gmail, and Workspace, are needed to help this small nonprofit that provides wellness and educational programs to indigenous communities in Ecuador.
