Volunteer Opportunities Of The Week: Garden Bed Building

Every week, Patch will spotlight volunteer opportunities in the Hudson Valley.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Each week, Patch will be highlighting volunteer opportunities in the Hudson Valley. This will be a chance to help your community and be an opportunity to give back — perhaps in a way you didn't consider before.

This week, we are putting the spotlight on these opportunities in the Hudson Valley.

Garden Bed Building
Help create a welcoming green space where young students and their families can connect with nature and learn about healthy eating and how plants grow. Volunteers will construct three garden beds, prepare the soil, and plant a variety of seeds. This is perfect for volunteers ages 16+ and groups.
Date: 7/1 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. and 1-5 p.m.

Female Mentors for Young Women
Her Honor Mentoring is a 9-month mentoring experience where professional women provide knowledge and advice to first-generation, lower-income students in their senior year of high school. Each mentor is paired with one mentee, and teams are guided by curriculum that is focused on college and career readiness topics. Mentees who achieve mentoring milestones are awarded financial grants as part of their participation with Her Honor Mentoring. Mentors must be 23+.

SharePoint and OneDrive Trainers
Friends of Karen is seeking an experienced and knowledgeable volunteer to provide training on Microsoft SharePoint and OneDrive for its staff. The ideal candidate will develop customized training materials and conduct hands-on training sessions to ensure effective use of these cloud tools.

Newsletter and Marketing Volunteer
The Center for Aging in Place is preparing to launch an e-newsletter and is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic volunteer to assist with digital communications and content strategy. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a meaningful cause while gaining or sharing valuable experience in digital marketing and nonprofit communications.
