Westchester Man Gets 40 Years In Federal Prison For 'Spree' Of Sex Abuse, Exploitation Of Minors: DA

The 44-year-old Mount Vernon man must register as a sex offender and complete 10 years of supervised release after his sentence is served.

MOUNT VERNON, NY — A Westchester man who preyed on young girls will not have an opportunity to harm vulnerable children for a long time.

Westchester County District Attorney Susan Cacace announced that 44-year-old Tyquan Brown, of Mount Vernon, was sentenced to 40 years in federal prison at a hearing last week, for the coercion and enticement of a minor. The judge further ordered Brown to undergo 10 years of supervised release after his prison sentence. He will also be required to register as a sex offender.

"I am grateful that this partnership between my office and the Southern District of New York led to a significant prison sentence for the defendant," Cacace said. "Mr. Brown's predatory conduct and unrepentant attitude during these proceedings, even after pleading guilty, indicated that a substantial penalty was needed to deter future predation."

"Two young girls were mercilessly victimized by his actions, and I commend them for their courage and strength during the course of this investigation," the DA added. "My office will spare no expense to hold abusers accountable."

Brown met the first victim, in 2022, when she was 14 years old and he was 41 years old. He soon began grooming her and eventually convinced her to have sex with him at several Westchester-area hotels, at times after giving her alcohol and marijuana. On several occasions, Brown raped the girl, and on at least one occasion, he violently attacked her in a hotel room. Brown also coerced her into engaging in commercial sex work, and he drove her to those appointments.

Then, between 2020 and 2022, Brown met his second victim, when she was between 14 and 16 years old. During this time, he drove her to a Bronx hotel and had sex with her. Brown also possessed sexually explicit images of her on his phone.

Brown was indicted by a federal grand jury in 2023. He pleaded guilty to one count of coercion and enticement of a minor in December 2024.

DA Cacace commended the work of Task Force Officer Matthew Tunney and Special Agent Karma Smith, both of the FBI, and the work of the Mount Vernon Police Department, the Yonkers Police Department, and the Westchester County DA's Office on this case.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Kaiya Arroyo and Assistant DA Mollie O'Rourke, who was deputized as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney for the prosecution of this case.
