Woman Found Dead In Car On Cross County Parkway Under Suspicious Circumstances

Investigators said they believe the victim "may have been targeted for violence," adding there is no danger to the public.

MOUNT VERON, NY — Police made a grisly discovery this weekend on the eastbound Cross County Parkway in Westchester County.

Around 8 a.m. on Sunday, a Westchester County Police Department patrol officer responded to a report of a disabled vehicle on the shoulder of the roadway just before the Broad Street exit. A woman was found dead behind the wheel of the car.

The circumstances are considered suspicious, according to police, and are being investigated as a crime by detectives from the General Investigations Unit.
