Nanuet Firefighters Tackle Fire at Nanuet Business

No one injured in Prospect Street incident.

Nanuet volunteer firefighters knocked down a small fire that broke out Friday night at a Nanuet business.

Clarkstown Police said the fire at Azar International, 31 W. Prospect St., was reported just before 8 p.m. The business, which makes and distributes point-of-purchase displays, is located a short distance from the Nanuet Fire Department's firehouse on Prospect Street.

The fire was reported just as volunteers from Nanuet finished assisting at the scene of an auto accident on the New York State Thruway. Police said firefighters found light smoke in the building and discovered a small paper fire in the rear of the building.
