• Rockland Plaza's Barnes & Noble Bookstore To Close In January (rcbizjournal.com) — Nanuet residents will soon lose the long-standing Barnes & Noble in Rockland Plaza on Route 59, which is closing January 18 after 33 years as part of a broader redevelopment of the center. Plans call for carving large stores like Modell’s and Petco into smaller shops and restaurants, preserving the Nanuet Diner, reconfiguring parking, and adding new bank and dining spaces while the Palisades Center store remains the county’s only Barnes & Noble.
   

• Bus Safety Program Sees Violations Drop 30%+ (rocklandtimes.com) — Families in Nanuet should know Rockland County’s school bus camera program has cut violations by more than 30%, with 90% of drivers never offending again. County officials and the Clarkstown Central School District, which serves Nanuet students, say tougher enforcement and easy online payment options are making bus stops safer for children every day.
