West Nyack ShopRite to Host Health, Wellness Events

This May, ShopRite of West Nyack, an Inserra Supermarkets store, is hosting a wide range of health and wellness events, including those focused on women’s health and celiac awareness. The store’s registered dietitian, Jaclyn Padovano, R.D., will lead each of the LiveRight offerings and provide easy-to-implement nutrition and wellness advice. All programs are free, open to the public, held at ShopRite of West Nyack and do not require advance registration, unless otherwise noted:

Monday, May 2: Celiac Awareness Event

From 1-3 p.m., join us in recognizing Celiac Awareness Month. Stop by the Dietitian’s Corner to learn about gluten and how to make delicious and nutritious gluten-free recipes.

Tuesday, May 3: Mother’s Day Beauty Bash

From 4-6 p.m., see what beautifying do-it-yourself products you can make with common household items for the wonderful mother in your life.

Monday, May 9: Produce Pick

From 4-6 p.m., Jackie, ShopRite’s registered dietitian, will be sampling this week’s produce pick in a creative and exciting dish. Stop by the Dietitian’s Corner to give it a try and take home a recipe.

Wednesday, May 11: LiveRight with ShopRite Adult Culinary Workshop

From 6-8 p.m., join Jackie, ShopRite’s registered dietitian, and Chef Vicki in creating a healthy and delicious meal as part of our Culinary Workshop Series. This month’s theme is “Fresh and Flourless.” The cost is $20 per person. Space is limited, and preregistration at the Courtesy Counter is required.

Saturday, May 14: Product Spotlight

From 3-5 p.m., dip in at the Dietitian’s Corner. Jackie, ShopRite’s registered dietitian, is whipping up simple and healthy dips made in the Cuisinart Food Processor featuring Gluten-Free Crunchmaster Multi-Seed Crackers.

Wednesday, May 18: Better Your BBQ

Memorial Day Weekend is right around the corner. From 4-6 p.m., learn a few new recipes to add to your weekend menu.

Friday, May 20: Product Spotlight: Crunchmaster Crackers

Have you tried Gluten-Free Crunchmaster Crackers? Now is your chance, from 3-5 p.m., to taste this healthy cracker alternative and take home a recipe for a special cracker topping too.

Tuesday, May 24: LiveRight with ShopRite Kids’ Culinary Workshop

From 5-7 p.m., bring in your chefs-in-training for a fun and healthy cooking class with Jackie, ShopRite’s registered dietitian, and Chef Vicki. This month’s theme is “Cookout for Kids.” The cost is $20 for one child with an adult and $10 for each additional child. Space is limited, and preregistration at the Courtesy Counter is required.

Tuesday, May 31: Meal of the Week Cart Demo

From 4-6 p.m. stop by the Dietitian’s Corner to sample the Meal of the Week. Ingredients and recipes will be provided for a quick, grab and go dinner option.

In addition to developing a full roster of store-based wellness programs, ShopRite’s in-store dietitians can serve as guest speakers and instructors at wellness events hosted by local organizations.
