$1 Million Winning Powerball Ticket Sold In NYC: See Where

NEW YORK CITY — A $1 million winning Powerball ticket was sold in New York City, the New York Lottery announced on Thursday.

The winning ticket for the Aug. 6 drawing was sold at the Diamond News Inc. at 631 Second Avenue.

Powerball drawings are televised every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday around 11 p.m. It is unknown at this time if the winner is a New York City resident.

According to the lottery, winners can claim their prizes up to one year from the date of the drawing.

Last month, the New York Lottery confirmed that a second place $1,000 A Week For Life ticket was sold at a deli in the Bronx.

The ticket gives the winner $1,000 a week for life, with a guaranteed minimum payout of $1 million.

A $1 million prize-winning Powerball ticket was also sold in New Jersey for Wednesday’s drawing.
