18 Injured In Seperate NYC Fires Over The Weekend: FDNY

Two separate fires left least 18 people injured — including 11 firefighters this past weekend, FDNY officials said.

QUEENS— Two separate fires in Queens left at least 18 people injured — including 11 firefighters this past weekend, FDNY officials said.

The first fire happened at a two-story home at 88-21 Francis Lewis Boulevard in Queens Village on Saturday around 4 p.m.

The fire quickly spread to seven nearby buildings, and was eventually deemed a five-alarm blaze, the FDNY said. More than 200 emergency personnel responded to the scene.

Eleven firefighters and three civilians all suffered minor injuries, FDNY officials said. The fire was put under control two hours later.

The second fire in Queens happened on Sunday at a home on 37th Road and 68th St. in Woodside around 7:15 a.m., FDNY officials said.

About 60 firefighters responded to the fire. The blaze was put out an hour later, the FDNY said.

Four people were injured in the fire — three of them suffered from smoke inhalation, officials said.
