  1. Three people were shot outside of a charter school in Williamsburg on Wednesday, including two students. Teenagers have been increasingly involved in shootings across the city, such as a recently charged 16-year-old gunman. (New York City Patch)
  2. The NYC sanitation workers union is planning to sue the city "as soon as possible" to demand backpay for workers fired for non-compliance with the city workers vaccine mandate, which the Adams administration ended this week. (Gothamist)
  3. About 70 families displaced from their homes after Hurricane Ida are being kicked out of their accommodations in a Lower Manhattan hotel at the end of the month, after FEMA funds ran out at the end of last year. A nonprofit is supposed to be helping them secure housing but they say it "hasn't been much help." (THE CITY)
  4. During his State of the Union speech on Tuesday night, President Joe Biden called on Congress to pass "comprehensive immigration reform" while the House is under a Republican majority. Mayor Eric Adams praised the announcement, adding "As I’ve repeatedly said, the asylum seeker crisis is a national problem that needs a national solution, in the short-, medium-, and long-term."
