3+ Inches Of Rain Fell In Parts Of NYC Area After Severe Storm
A travel advisory is in effect until Friday afternoon.
NEW YORK CITY — The New York City area is recovering after a severe rainstorm slammed the region on Thursday afternoon, with some parts of the city seeing as much as 3 inches, forecasters said.
According to the National Weather Service, the New York City metro area saw 1 to 3 inches as a whole, with 3+ inches in parts of Queens.
A travel advisory is in effect until Friday afternoon.

A number of vehicles were left underwater and trapped on the Clearview Expressway Thursday, with images on social media showing a semi-truck among the vehicles stuck. The storm also caused vehicles to get stuck on the Staten Island Expressway.
Alternate side parking is suspended in New York City on Friday, but parking meters remain in effect.

While a state of emergency was declared in New York City on Thursday, there are currently no weather-related delays for the subway system Friday.
