3 NYC Hospitals Among Best In U.S.: New Rankings Show
US News & World Report's annual "honor roll" list was released earlier this week.
NEW YORK CITY — Three New York City hospitals ranked in the Top 20 of a US News & World Report’s annual “honor roll” list that recognizes hospitals for excellence in providing high-quality care.
Mount Sinai Hospital, New York-Presbyterian Hospital-Columbia and Cornell and NYU Langone Hospitals earned top spots in the “Best Hospitals” rankings released on Tuesday.
The three hospitals ranked in the top three for the best hospitals in New York, while Montefiore Einstein in the Bronx and Lenox Hill Hospital rounded out the top five.

Mount Sinai had 12 adult specialties ranked nationally, NYU Langone ranked in 13 adult specialties and four children's specialties and New York-Presbyterian had 14 adult specialties and 11 children's specialties rank nationally.
“These rankings once again reflect the unwavering commitment to science, innovation and the exceptional, patient-centered care that define the Mount Sinai Hospital and our entire health system,” Brendan G. Carr, CEO and the Kenneth L. Davis distinguished chair of the Mount Sinai Health System, said.

In addition, NYU Langone Health had more No. 1-ranked specialties than any US hospital or medical center, according to the report. They top ranked in neurology, neurosurgery, cardiology, heart and vascular surgery, pulmonology, lung surgery and geriatric care.
“Thanks to the incredible employees working across our integrated health system, NYU Langone has achieved something unmatched this year: the most top-ranked medical specialties among any of our peers across the nation,” Robert I. Grossman, CEO of NYU Langone and dean of NYU Grossman School of Medicine, said “NYU Langone has always maintained one consistently high standard of care, regardless of location and specialty, allowing us to consistently deliver the best quality and outcomes to our patients.”
New York-Presbyterian Hospital-Columbia and Cornell were recognized for the 22nd consecutive year, with 12 specialties in the Top 10.
NYC Health + Hospitals also announced that 11 of its hospitals made the Best Hospitals list.
