3 Young Men Charged In NYC Shooting That Killed 46-Year-Old Man

NEW YORK CITY — Three young men have been arrested and charged in connection to a fatal shooting that killed a 46-year-old man in Washington Heights three weeks ago, police announced.
A 17-year-old male, whose name has not been released, Jason Texeira, 18, and Jeremiah Bascombe, 19, of the Bronx, were all charged with two counts of second-degree murder, second-degree assault, and two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, police said.
On Oct. 2, Vernard Floranda was found by police with a gunshot wound to his chest at West 160th Street and Amsterdam Avenue.

A 25-year-old man was also injured in the shooting and suffered a gunshot wound to his left ankle. He was taken to a local hospital in stable condition, police said.
Floranda was transported by EMS to NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem, where he was pronounced dead.
