Among the victims confirmed on Tuesday is reportedly a Blackstone executive. Here's what else we know about Monday's shooting.
Shooting Victims Confirmed
Wesley LePatner, Blackstone executive:
Investment firm Blackstone confirmed the death of the 43-year-old in a statement on Tuesday.
"We are heartbroken to share that our colleague, Wesley LePatner, was among those who lost their lives in the tragic incident at 345 Park Avenue," the statement said. "Words cannot express the devastation we feel. Wesley was a beloved member of the Blackstone family and will be sorely missed."
"She was brilliant, passionate, warm, generous, and deeply respected within our firm and beyond," it continued. "She embodied the best of Blackstone. "Our prayers are with her husband, children and family. We are also saddened by the loss of the other innocent victims as well, including brave security personnel and NYPD."
NYPD officer Didarul Islam
The 36-year-old was an immigrant from Bangladesh and had been working as a NYPD officer for the past three years, Commissioner Jessica Tisch said at a news conference.
“He was doing the job that we asked him to do. He put himself in harm’s way. He made the ultimate sacrifice,” the police commissioner said. “He died as he lived. A hero.”
Islam leaves behind two young boys, and his wife, who is pregnant with their third child, according to Tisch.
Aland Etienne, Security Officer
A third victim has been identified as SEIU security officer Aland Etienne, according to union 32BJ SEIU.
“We are devastated to hear the reports of the shooting at 345 Park Avenue. We extend our deep condolences to the families and friends who lost loved ones tonight, including that of our own 32BJ SEIU security member Aland Etienne, a dedicated security officer who took his job duties extremely seriously.
We have been in touch with Aland Etienne’s family and are working with building management and the NYPD to support their investigation. We are ensuring our members in the building receive the free union counseling and support services they deserve and need to manage this unspeakable loss.
This tragedy speaks to the sacrifice of security officers who risk their lives every day to keep New Yorkers and our buildings safe. Every time a security officer puts on their uniform, they put their lives on the line. Their contributions to our city are essential, though often unappreciated. Aland Etienne is a New York hero. We will remember him as such.
32BJ SEIU commercial cleaners and other security members were also working at 345 Park Avenue during the incident," 32BJ SEIU President Manny Pastreich said in a statement.

Shooter Was Targeting NFL Offices
Tamura was reportedly found carrying a note in his pocket blaming the NFL for giving him CTE, a brain injury linked to head trauma, even though he never played in the league, according to the New York Post.
Mayor Eric Adams on FOX5 NY on Tuesday disclosed that the shooter wanted to shoot up the NFL’s offices on levels five through eight, but “mistakenly went up the wrong elevator banks” and ended up on a higher floor.
The shooter in his three-page-long note pleaded for his brain to be studied following his death.
