$650 Ping-Pong Paddles

Tiffany & Co. amazed the world this fall with its "Everyday Objects" collection, a package of mundane items made of exorbitantly priced luxury materials for no good reason. Among them is a set of two ping-pong paddles made of walnut, genuine blue and black leather and a sterling silver decal. The people at Tiffany's are so generous, they're throwing in three ping-pong balls so you can play with a friend – presumably on a table made of Italian marble.

Where to get it: Tiffany & Co., 727 Fifth Ave., Midtown (and other locations)

Can Of Dark Matter

Astronomers aren't quite sure what dark matter is, but you can buy it in a can in Brooklyn. The Brooklyn Superhero Supply Co. also sells containers of "Antimatter," "Magnificence," "Immortality" and "Gratitude" for all your superhuman needs.

Where to get it: Brooklyn Superhero Supply Co., 372 Fifth Ave., Park Slope

A Handful Of Tiny Rubber Chickens

Dan's Parents' House is a shrine to the strange artifacts of decades past. Digging through the bins of their Brooklyn Flea booth, you'll find detached baby doll heads, any action figure you could possibly imagine and, yes, a cornucopia of miniature rubber chickens. This is the only stop you'll need to make to find a gift that'll leave someone speechless.

Where to get it: Dan's Parents' House, weekends at the Brooklyn Flea (241 37th St., Sunset Park), Wednesday through Monday at 239 City Island Ave., the Bronx

Stuffed Rattlesnake

The Evolution Store is kind of like the Museum of Natural History, except you can buy pretty much everything you see. This basket full of once-live rattlesnakes could hold the perfect gift for the snake lover in your life. If that's not appealing, there are also frogs in jars and a full piranha skeleton.

Where to get it: The Evolution Store, 687 Broadway, Soho
