Man Shot In Midtown Manhattan: Report
The shooting was just a few streets away from Rockefeller Center.
MIDTOWN, Manhattan — A man accidentally shot himself in the chest on Sunday in Midtown Manhattan, according to ABC News New York.
At around 10:15 p.m., New York Police Department officers responded to the area near West 57th Street and Sixth Avenue (Avenue of the Americas).
Authorities believe the 27-year-old falsely reported that he was shot by someone wearing all black.

He was taken to Mount Sinai West for treatment and listed in critical condition. Officials believe he will survive.
He is expected to be charged with criminal possession of a weapon and falsely reporting an incident, according to authorities.
