Adams Bum-Rushed By Protesters Shouting 'We Need A New Mayor'
Hizzoner denied a security breach took place and boasted he "knows how to take care of himself."

NEW YORK CITY — Protesters bum-rushed Mayor Eric Adams in what he contended was definitely not a security breach because he "knows how to take care of himself."
Security carted the protesters off a stage during a breakfast hosted by the Association for a Better New York where Adams made a speech, a video posted by a New York Times reporter shows.
"We need a new mayor," one protester shouts, as another yells about landlords.

Adams, one of the most prominent politicians in the U.S. appeared unfazed afterward that protesters could get so close to him.
He contended during a news conference afterward that he tells his security detail to not stop New Yorkers from coming near.

"I'm a security person nightmare," he said, before appearing to shift into braggadocio.
"They know the uniqueness of a man that was a former police officer, and a mayor that knows how to take care of himself. No banner is going to scare me."
