Bike Thief Attacks Man With Wrench On NYC Street: NYPD

The incident happened on July 24 in front of 180 3 Avenue in Manhattan, police said.

NEW YORK CITY — An unknown man attacked a 51-year-old man with a wrench as he tried to steal his bike in Manhattan, police said.

On July 24, at around 3:40 p.m., in front of 180 3 Avenue, the 51-year-old man was standing near his bike when the suspect came up with a wrench and removed the man's bike from a pole, police said.

When the victim tried to stop the suspect from stealing his bike, he was subsequently attacked and hit with the wrench, police said.
