Bird's-Eye View Gives New Perspective On Thanksgiving Parade

The NYPD had cameras watching from hundreds of feet above the balloons.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NEW YORK – It's a whole new way of seeing the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. A bird's-eye view of the balloons floating through the streets of Manhattan was released by the NYPD's aviation unit which watched from hundreds of feet in the air.

On the ground, thousands braved sub-zero temperatures to catch a glimpse of the spectacle which was completed for the 92nd time this year.

The NYPD's air-borne cameras were part of a major security effort put in place to keep the crowds safe.
