Black Friday 2018: Best Deals In NYC

NEW YORK, NY — Ready to stand in line with a long list, little time and less patience for the crowds? Black Friday's post-Thanksgiving feeding frenzy is almost upon us.

Thankfully, the personal finance website WalletHub wants to help you narrow down your Black Friday search with a list of the big-box stores where the discounts are deepest.

JCPenney and Kohl's are the places to be if you're looking for a real steal. The department store chains both have an average Black Friday discount of 65.1 and 60.8 percent respectively, the largest among the retailers WalletHub surveyed.

Another WalletHub study found that you might be better off buying some items online now rather than waiting until Black Friday. The report found that 10.1 percent of items listed on Amazon will actually be more expensive on Black Friday than they currently are.

Jewelry, books, movies and music generally make the best Black Friday deals, WalletHub found.
