A boat struck the Brooklyn Bridge in an "unusual incident" Wednesday morning, FDNY officials said.

NEW YORK CITY — A crane on a barge struck a scaffold Brooklyn Bridge and caused damage Wednesday morning, authorities said.
Firefighters scrambled about 8:20 a.m. to reports of an "unusual incident" at the iconic bridge, FDNY officials said.
They arrived to find that a boat had struck scaffolding under the Brooklyn Bridge, but not the bridge itself, officials with the Office of Emergency told Patch.
