Barge Crane Hits Brooklyn Bridge Scaffold, Causing Damage: FDNY

NEW YORK CITY — A crane on a barge struck a scaffold Brooklyn Bridge and caused damage Wednesday morning, authorities said.

Firefighters scrambled about 8:20 a.m. to reports of an "unusual incident" at the iconic bridge, FDNY officials said.

They arrived to find that a boat had struck scaffolding under the Brooklyn Bridge, but not the bridge itself, officials with the Office of Emergency told Patch.

Firefighters determined it didn't impact the integrity of the bridge, authorities said. No one was injured in the incident.
