Body Parts Found In NYC Linked To Charred Remains In Yonkers: Report

Police believe the victim may have been killed inside the apartment, and some parts of the body were taken to Yonkers to be dumped.

THE BRONX, NY — Remains found in a Bronx apartment Monday have been linked to a charred body discovered burning in Yonkers, authorities said.

Beginning Monday morning, Yonkers police responded to a report of a fire on the sidewalk near the Oak Street Bridge. When the flames were put out, they made the discovery of the charred body.

Late Monday night, the NYPD conducted a search warrant at 903 Rogers Place in the Bronx that led them to finding human remains inside a kitchen and bedroom.

Police believe the victim may have been killed inside the apartment, and some parts of the body were taken to Yonkers to be "dumped," according to a CBS News report.

Authorities used surveillance video to trace the suspects on a train to Yonkers and then back to the Bronx, according to the report.

The suspects may have been wheeled the body onto a train, left near the Oak Street Bridge, and set on fire.

The investigation has now being led by the Bronx DA's office and detectives from the 41st Precinct.

The identity of the victim has not been released, and the city's medical examiner will determine the official cause of death.
