Broadway Actors To Perform Free Shows In NYC Parks
Find out where and when to catch the free "Broadway in the Boros" series this summer.

NEW YORK, NY - Broadway is leaving Midtown this summer when the Great White Way moves to the outer boroughs.
The Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment is taking some of the best shows to other parts of the city as part of its annual push to get shows to a wider audience.
The first showcase takes place June 23 at noon with the stars of “Chicago” and “Waitress” in Downtown Brooklyn at Albee Square Plaza, located at the corner of Fulton and Bond Streets.

A second show will be held in Long Island City’s Socrates Sculpture Park on July 21, also at noon, featuring performances from the cast of “Anastasia.”
Additional performances are scheduled for July 24 at 7 p.m. in the Bronx’s Williamsbridge Park Oval, including a film of Broadway musical “Newsies” and an interactive crowd dance lesson in partnership with the city parks department. The cast of “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” will be on Staten Island on July 28 at noon at Borough Hall Plaza.

“Broadway in the Boros,” launched in 2016, is a collaboration between the Broadway Theatre community and NYC City Parks Department, along with AFM Local 802 and alliances among city agencies, neighborhood organization and local cultural institutions.
