NEW YORK CITY — Rap superstar Cardi B is dropping $100,000 for her Bronx middle school alma mater.
Cardi B announced the surprise donation Tuesday during a visit to I.S. 232, where she rhapsodized to a crowd of students about the education she received there.
"The teachers were very tough on me, because they saw something on me," she said.

"I was like a bad kid, but I was very special to a lot of these teachers. I still got them in my heart."
Schools Chancellor David Banks, who stood alongside Cardi B during the visit, thanked her for the donation.

“Cardi B’s commitment of $100K for the arts will help the school’s kids soar to their highest heights," he said in a statement.
