Con Ed Ordered To Review Subway Power Supply After Delays

"This is the most comprehensive power review ever done," Gov. Andrew Cuomo's office said.

NEW YORK CITY, NY – As politicians struggle to fix the chaos of the city's subway system, Gov. Andrew Cuomo has announced steps to improve electrical power for the system.

His office said Con Ed has been told to review power supply for the subways and repair any problems over the coming year.

“This is the most comprehensive power review ever done, literally testing and repairing the entire power flow system,” Cuomo’s office said in a statement.

The MTA has blamed some of the recent delays on power outages. One such outage crippled service on the N, D and R lines last month.

Cuomo announced the Con Ed project after touring the subway’s decades-old electrical system, according to news reports.
