DOT Reveals The Worst Days To Drive In NYC During The Holidays: See List

The DOT strongly encourages New Yorkers and visitors to use non-driving modes of transportation.

NEW YORK CITY — The New York City Department of Transportation is warning drivers that these are the worst days to drive in the city during the holiday season.

Gridlock Alert Days will hit around the busy holiday season, running from Nov. 19 through Dec. 18 and residents can expect heavy traffic congestion during those days.

The DOT has advised residents to use the subway, buses, ferries and regional rail lines when traveling.

  • Wednesday, Nov. 19
  • Thursday, Nov. 20
  • Tuesday, Nov. 25
  • Wednesday, Dec. 3
  • Thursday, Dec. 4
  • Friday, Dec. 5
  • Monday, Dec. 8
  • Tuesday, Dec. 9
  • Wednesday, Dec. 10
  • Thursday, Dec. 11
  • Friday, Dec. 12
  • Monday, Dec. 15
  • Tuesday, Dec. 16
  • Wednesday, Dec. 17
  • Thursday, Dec. 18
