Parents Charged With Criminally Negligent Homicide After Boy Dies

NEW YORK CITY — The father of a 4-year-old boy who was found dead inside a Harlem apartment is now facing charges, two days after the boy's mother was also arrested.
Laron Modlin, 25, has been charged with criminally negligent homicide and endangering the welfare of a child, police announced.
26-year-old Nytavia Ragsdale is also facing the same charges, Patch previously reported.

Police found 4-year-old Jahmeik Modlin unresponsive inside 2484 Adam Clayton Powell Jr Blvd in Harlem on Sunday around 8 p.m., Patch previously reported.
The boy was transported to Harlem Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Modlin may have been suffering from malnourishment and hypothermia, according to multiple media reports.
