Girl, 9, Escapes Attempted Kidnapping As She Walked To NYC School
An unknown man in a black mask drove a sedan next to the girl and told her to "Come inside the car."

NEW YORK CITY —A 9-year-old girl escaped an attempted kidnapping as she walked to a New York City school Wednesday morning.
The incident happened near the corner of 34th Avenue and 93rd Street in Queens around 7:40 a.m., according to a New York Post report.

When the girl refused, the suspect got out of his car and tried to grab the 9-year-old, according to the report.
The girl ran away to her mother, who worked as a school crossing guard at a nearby school, police said.

The unknown individual fled the scene and drove north on 93rd Street.
Police responded to the scene, but as of Wednesday evening no arrests have been made.
An investigation remains ongoing.
