Girl Fatally Struck By NYC Train In Potential 'Medical Episode': Cops

The child's death along the E line was one of several Tuesday incidents that caused mass subway delays, MTA officials said.

NEW YORK CITY — A girl was fatally struck by a subway train in Queens after she fell onto the tracks during a potential "medical episode," police said.

The incident unfolded Tuesday about 6:35 a.m. along the E train platform at the Jackson Heights-Roosevelt Avenue station, authorities said.

The girl, who is believed to be in her teens, fell into the path of a southbound train, police said. Medics pronounced her dead about 6:40 a.m., NYPD officials said.

The girl's death prompted extensive delays along the E, F, M and R lines — and those weren't the only subway holdups facing New Yorkers Tuesday morning.

Trains along the 4, 5 and 6 lines ran with delays in both directions after a train had its brakes activated near Borough Hall, according to the MTA.

And Hudson Yards-bound 7 trains ran with delays because of a signal problem at 74th Street-Broadway, the MTA posted.
