According to INRIX's Labor Day travel trends, the best time to leave the city was before 1 p.m. on Thursday.

The worst times to travel for the holiday weekend is expected to be from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday.

On Friday, the best times to travel will be before noon. In turn, the worst times to be on the road on Friday will be from noon to 8 p.m.

For Saturday, drivers will have to get early if they want to avoid traffic. The best times to drive are from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. The times with the most traffic look to be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., according to INRIX.

The best time to drive on Sunday is before 11 a.m. Traffic will be the worst from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.

On Monday, the best time to travel is before 12 p.m. The worst time to be on the road is from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

In addition, around 2.4 million travelers are expected to fly out from Port Authority airports during the Labor Day travel period.
