This Is How Much It Costs To Get Married In NY
Here's a clue: It's much more than Europeans spend.

NEW YORK, NY – Europeans spend about $5,500 on their weddings. In New York, that will barely buy a bride her flowers.
Tying the knot hopefully creates a partnership for life, but it can also burden newlyweds with a lifetime worth of debt. The dress must be perfect. The engagement ring must make a statement – and all of that costs money.
American couples spend a whopping five times more than their European counterparts. According to The Wedding Report, in New York last year people spent an average of $35,477 to get married. That included an average of $1,476 for the dress and $4,167 for the engagement ring.

In Manhattan, it was $42,200. Compare that to 2013 when an average wedding cost $38,900.
Hawaii was the most expensive state to get married in, with couples typically spending more than $39,000 on the event, according to the financial news and opinion site 24/7 Wall St., which ranked all 50 states.
