ISIS Threatens NYC Over Jerusalem Decision: Report
The NYPD says there's no credible threat by the terrorist group.
NEW YORK, NY — The Islamic State group issued a broad threat Thursday suggesting it will target New York City, according to a report from Reuters. The terrorist network reportedly posted a message to the Telegram instant messaging service with photos of Times Square and what looked like an explosive belt.
The message was a response to President Donald Trump's decision earlier this month to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, a contentious move that triggered anger across the Arab world, Reuters reported.
"We will do more ops in your land, until the final hour and we will burn you with the flames of war which you started in Iraq, Yemen, Libya and Syria and Afghan. Just you wait," the message reportedly read.

Despite the message, there is no credible ISIS threat against New York City, an NYPD spokesperson said in an email.
The message came just three days after Akayed Ullah detonated a crude homemade pipe bomb in a pedestrian tunnel near the Times Square subway station an an ISIS-inspired terror attack. Four people were injured, including Ullah.

U.S. and New York officials have not said that Ullah had any direct communication with ISIS. His attack was the second inspired by the group in less than six weeks. Sayfullo Saipov ran a rented pickup truck down the Hudson River Greenway on Oct. 31, killing eight people and injuring 12.
