JetBlue Plane Tips Backward At JFK Airport: Photos
A "shift in weight and balance" while passengers left a plane at JFK caused the jet's nose to rise in the air, said a JetBlue spokesperson.
QUEENS, NY — A JetBlue airplane tipped back at JFK Airport — and it was anything but relaxing.
Dramatic photos and videos circulating online show the massive jet in a precarious position — nose in the air and tail to the ground — while it sat at a gate Sunday evening.
The plane has since been taken out of service for inspection as JetBlue reviews the incident, which unfolded after the plane landed from Bridgetown, Barbados, a spokesperson for the airline told Patch.

"Once at the gate, due to a shift in weight and balance during deplaning, the tail of the aircraft tipped backward causing the nose of the aircraft to lift up and eventually return back down," the spokesperson said in a statement. "No injuries were reported."
