NEW YORK CITY — Jim Walden, a lawyer and former prosecutor, has announced his plans to run for New York City Mayor next November.
He will be the sixth candidate looking to unseat Mayor Eric Adams, according to multiple media reports.
Walden told the New York Times he would focus on "cleaning up city government", and will propose a “zero-tolerance policy on corruption.”

Walden has not decided which party’s nomination to seek in the June primaries. The former prosecutor has never run for office, according to the report.
Walden has told reporters he would invest $500,000 of his own money to get his campaign started.

On Monday, Zohran Mamdani, a Queens assembly member, filed a committee to run in the 2025 Democratic primary for mayor, Patch previously reported.
In addition to Mamdani, Walden will be running against city comptroller Brad Lander, former comptroller Scott Stringer, state Sen. Zellnor Myrie and state Assemblymember Jessica Ramos.
