L Train Service Restored In NYC After Power Loss: MTA

The service disruption which lasted for about an hour and a half was caused by the loss of third-rail power in a tunnel.

NEW YORK CITY — L train subway service was suspended between Brooklyn and Manhattan during the morning rush hour Monday, according to MTA officials.

The service disruption which lasted for about an hour and a half was caused by the loss of third-rail power in the tunnel between the two boroughs.

The MTA first reported the issues around 8 a.m., with the agency recommending commuters to take the A‌‌, C‌‌, J‌‌ and M lines to get to and from Brooklyn and Manhattan.

Around 9:41 a.m., service was restored in both directions, with L trains making their regular stops between the two boroughs with some residuals delays, according to the MTA.

As of Monday afternoon, L train service is running on a normal schedule.
