Man, 73, Falls To His Death After Trying To Escape Home Invasion

NEW YORK CITY — An 73-year-old man fell to his death from a window as he tried to escape a home invasion in Manhattan over the weekend.

The incident happened at an apartment building near 161st Street and Broadway in Washington Heights around 4:40 a.m. on Saturday, police said.

A burglar gained access to the apartment by climbing up a fire escape and opening a window. He then let two others suspects inside, police said.

The suspects tied up a 40-year-old man, stealing a gold chain and some cash.

He was transported to Harlem Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
